Sinatra

In 1942 Chicago Outfit mob boss, Sam “Momo” Giancana coerced Tommy Dorsey to release the young crooner, Frank Sinatra out of his contract early.

By 1953 Frank’s star was on the wane and he was desperate to land the role of Maggio in From Here to Eternity. He needed this role. It was perfect for him.

The studio wouldn’t give it to him because he’d stolen the studio head’s underage girlfriend, Marlene Dietrich, from him.

Allegedly, Momo told Frank to stop crying like a little girl. The part, for which he would win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, would be his.

In 1960 Frank voiced support for JFK, newly recording the campaign’s theme song: High Hopes!

In March 1963, JFK’s brother-in-law, Peter Lawford, asked Sinatra if he would have Kennedy as a guest at his Palm Springs house. Sinatra was thrilled and went to great lengths, including constructing a helipad, to accommodate JFK.

Kennedy cancelled at the last minute because of Frank’s association with people like Momo, & instead stayed with Sinatra rival, Bing Crosby.

Frank went berserk & took it out on Lawford.

He expelled him from the Rat Pack, cancelled his roles in upcoming movies, & never spoke to him again.

Later, he split from the Democratic party supporting Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan.
