Fat Herbie

Las Vegas, NV – 1976

Vegas was a mob town.

It was clean. It was safe. It was fun.

Everyone looked nice. Nobody wore flip-flops or tank tops in the casinos.

Nobody got hurt. Almost nobody.

Once a lieutenant for wiseguy Tony “The Ant” Spilotro, Fat Herbie Blitzstein found himself relegated to loan sharking & repair shop insurance fraud, after The Ant was beaten to a pulp and buried alive in an Indiana cornfield.

In 1997, a month after being nominated for entry into The Black Book, Fat Herbie was murdered.

Bullet to the back of the head.

His attorney (& former Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman) said: “The only way to beat the Black Book is to drop dead before the hearing.”
